Reason #941740 Why Life Is Hard Here
British life is difficult, people. The system is just so cruel. Have found new found respect for all those people that had to live through them medieval times. Those must have been rough here. They don't have lactaid here. Was talking to this girl as she looked longingly at us as we ate our ice cream. I offered that she could take one of them tablets (the way I'd offered to Jamilah also- you know, I'm quite good at being sensitive about lactose intolerance. I deserve an Oscar-Nobel hybrid). But she said, no, she couldn't, because she doesn't have them. They don't have lactaid in this country. She had only heard about it through her doctor, who had commented on how much it sucks that they don't have lactaid in this country. That was how she found out that people in other countries can enjoy lactose. That all her suffering is pretty much in vain. Here, if you're intolerant of something, you simply don't have it. Weeeird.
